Walden Hillert grew up on ranches on Comal and Menard counties.  After graduating from Angelo State University with a B.S. in Animal Science, Walden worked for IBP and Tyson Foods as a hog buyer for 18 years.   He returned to Menard to raise Angus cattle and improve range management on the ranch.

Walden is on the Menard County Farm Bureau Board of Directors, Menard County Appraisal Review Board, and the Farm Service Agency Board of Directors.  He and his wife Kelly have two daughters.
